O2Security SifoScopes CM Series Overview:

SifoScopes CM is a powerful internet security appliance with the ability to monitor and record all web pages visited by corporate users, SMTP email, email sent and received via webmail, instant messages (MSN, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, QQ, etc), and FTP/Telnet transactions. SifoScopes CM can monitor and detect any illegitimate use of company resources for personal activities, effectively increasing employee and company productivity.

Main SifoScopes Functions:

1. Access Mode
   SifoScopes uses Sniffer and Bridge mode with bypass capability to access network. With Sniffer mode, a hub or a switch with mirroring capability is required to connect either the Firewall LAN or SifoScopes so that even when SifoScopes fails, the network environment will not be affected. If Bridge mode is used, SifoScopes will connect to the Firewall LAN at one end, and connect to the internal network, without affecting network performance. If SifoScopes fails, its hardware Bypass functions will ensure the continued normal operation of the network.
2. What is recorded?
   SifoScopes supports a wide range of application layer protocols such as HTTP, SMTP, POP3, FTP, Telnet, and applications such as Instant Messenger (IM) and Web Mail. It records in detail web pages visited by users, automatically backs up all mail correspondences, chat history from instant messengers (MSN, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, etc.), FTP files and transactions and Telnet/BBS content.
3. Alert of abnormal traffic flow
   When a network PC is suspected of being infected by a virus that continuously generates and sends out messages, SifoScopes will send an alert to the user and the network administrator. If SifoScopes is using Bridge deployment mode, it can also stop the messages from being relayed.
4. Remote backup
   SifoScopes has a unique remote backup mechanism. Administrators can backup selected services to remote NAS or file server whenever necessary. Administrators can also view the remote backup logs with a browser via a control port and have full control over all logged data.
5. Group Administrator
   The system administrator can add new group administrators, and decide for each group, their monitoring limit and scope. If the company network is divided into multiple groups, the overall system administrator can assign separate rights to administrators under each group so that they have monitoring rights within their assigned group but not the other groups.
6. Records of the day If the administrator wishes to know a particular employee’s network activity on that day, he can use the “Records of the Day” function instead of searching over various service records. The function will immediately display all the employee’s network activities for that day.
7. Categorizing records base on IP / MAC/ Authentication User Account
   SifoScopes categorize recorded data by users’ IP or MAC address. This can be applied to all kinds of company network structures (static IP, dynamic IP, using internal router, etc.) Alternatively, SifoScopes CM can also record data categorized by the authenticated user id (local user, RADIUS, POP3, LDAP/AD).
8. Remote management
   Using the Web management interface, the administrator can access any records anytime, anywhere, without additional software.
9. Application software management
   SifoScopes now support wide range of software, such as Instant messenger (IM), Web IM, P2P, multimedia streaming, VPN tunneling, Remote Controlling. This feature enables a more efficient and easy way of managing internal network behavior.
10. User-friendly UI design and easy-to-understand statistical charts
    Sifoscopes’ easy-to-use user interface comes in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and English Languages. Statistical charts and diagrams provides all types of system information and traffic statistics, allowing administrators to analyze the data easily and make better informed decisions.
